This Senior Field Service Technician position we are currently recruiting for might be just what you’re looking for. In this role, you will be operating, repairing and maintaining equipment and systems belonging to the TV & Radio Networks. Problem solving skills, hands-on experience, and patience are key in order to succeed and be able to thrive in this role. 

Does this sound like you? Here’s what you need to have to match our requirements:

  • Technician level qualifications (Telecoms Technician and preferably Full Tech certificate) or relevant / equivalent experience in the field; 
  • Rope Access Training (rope access, fall arrest and safety working at heights); 
  • Electricity Installation, Alteration, Extension and Certification of Electrical Wirings and Fittings (Electrician Authorisation - A);
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to perform 1st level operations and maintenance on the TV & Radio Networks equipment without supervision; 
  • Technical problem solving and logical skills; 
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written); 
  • Good personal and interpersonal skills; 
  • The ability to occasionally work after office hours and on-call roster duties; 
  • A valid driving license – required to drive a Company car; 

If this describes you, then this is a glimpse of what you'll be doing: 

  • Attending to faults on the TV and radio networks in a timely manner and performing regular preventive maintenance on site; 
  • Attending to mains power failures at all radio sites when required, using portable generators to ensure continuity of service beyond what the batteries can provide; 
  • Performing adjustments, data gathering, reporting and reconfiguration activities at all radio sites as and when required; 
  • Commissioning of new and relocated equipment after completion of the installation activity; 
  • Work on the installation, relocation and optimisation of equipment; 
  • Monitoring of the radio networks from the control room elsewhere when required. When on monitoring duty the Senior Field Service Technician is also to assist the Field Service Co-ordinator to coordinate activities at remote sites and provide remote assistance; 
  • Supervision of sub-contractors on site when required; 
  • Attendance at customer sites to assist in fault clarification and rectification.
