The NetDevOps candidate is expected to improve network reliability by automating network configuration and testing. This reduces errors and outages, leading to increased uptime and better service for users.

Your role will be to plan, implement and administer systems, management and troubleshooting of network infrastructure. You will document functional specifications and processes, propose improvements to current processes in relation to Systems and Network security matters. Besides the regular office-hours job you will also provide 24x7 Support on a roster on call basis and assist where necessary during planned night maintenance.

From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you’ll put your hardware and software talents to good use.

  • A Degree in Engineering/ an IT related field or equivalent;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Be a strong team player;
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Be in possession of a valid driving license.

This is how you can hit a few more plus points for this position:

  • Knowledge of Networking principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of data center fabric solutions / Knowledge of Service Provider network infrastructure
  • Experience in any of the following is considered an asset, however training will be provided:
    • Networking and networks security (LAN, WAN, IPSec VPN, Monitoring etc.); Cisco switches, routers and WiFi; Network Firewalls; NMS; Network Load Balancers; DNS
    • Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, or RESTCONF
    • Knowledge of API and Object-Oriented principles
    • Experienced in troubleshooting via tools and scripts
    • Experience in working with Open-source software and libraries
    • Knowledge of Cisco ACI
    • CCNA / CCNP / DevNet Certification

Does this describe you? Here's a glimpse of what you will be doing in this role:

  • Operate, manage and maintain the company’s networking equipment
  • Collect statistical data of the network to ensure the appropriate forecasting, dimensioning and sizing of the various Network elements so as to meet the demand for Service Provisioning as well as maintain the required Service Levels;
  • Develop network automation and telemetry capabilities, building the tools and solutions to enable data-driven decision making across the business
  • Automate routine tasks, to focus on more complex issues, improving overall network management.
  • Develop tools to provide greater visibility into network performance, helping to diagnose and troubleshoot issues more quickly.
  • Implement appropriate operational procedures in accordance with international norms and standards in order to ensure that system downtime is minimised and a high-level quality of service guaranteed
  • Provide on the job training when necessary
  • Assist and liaise with other sections in the design, the build and operation, of customers’ networks;
  • Revise and improve existing security infrastructure
  • Manage LINUX / WINDOWS systems
  • Manage relational databases and writing SQL queries.
  • Provide 3rd level support and liaise directly with third parties, including clients and suppliers for technical problem resolution on a 24x7 basis.
