We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Specialist to oversee and drive health, safety, and environmental compliance across all aspects of our operations.
This role will be critical in ensuring the safety of our employees, contractors, clients, and the public. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, solutions-focused, and able to adapt health and safety standards to a dynamic and fast-paced industry.

- A minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in a related field.
- A Diploma or Degree level qualification in Health and Safety.
- Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail for risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Be willing to learn and attend further training to keep up with latest updates;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the workforce.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive and driven, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and health and safety reporting tools.
- Being in possession of a valid driver's license (Having your own transport is often needed for site inspections).
- Fluent in English and ability to communicate with authorities.
Here’s how you can hit a few plus points for this position:
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience with ISO standards.
- Knowledge of industry specific risks such as working at heights, RF (radiofrequency) awareness, fibre optic safety, and lone working protocols.
- Training delivery experience.
If this describes you, then this is a glimpse of what you'll be doing:
- Act as the competent person on H&S matters in relation to GO group, as well as a focal point on all H&S measures adopted or to be adopted by the Company.
- Provide necessary advice on H&S strategic direction to ensure that the Company abides with relevant H&S regulations and best practices as well as to provide direction on legal developments and new work practices.
- Confirm that new work practices adopted are in line with H&S standards and do follow established work practices.
- Suggest improvements on the implementation of H&S regulations to maximise efficiency.
- Keep updated with all new developments in the field.
- Update the H&S manual to reflect all changes in regulations and best practices.
- Establish good relationships with the respective Occupational Health and Safety Authorities.
- Continuously provide H&S awareness to all employees.
- Coordinate H&S liaison officers and management to ensure that all employees are following established practices in the H&S Manual.
- Provide advice and support to H&S liaison officers and management on compiling and upkeep of H&S risk assessments.
- Investigate and analyse all cases of injuries suffered on the place of work or that occur within the Company premises. This support should also be provided out of office hours if injury is very serious or fatal.
- Support and assist on cases of ‘Return to Work’ to ensure that employees on long sickness or injury are fit to return to work.
- Coordinate medical tests for employees who are exposed to strenuous work, confined spaces and working at heights.
- Coordinate eye tests for regular VDU users.
- Support in the implementation of employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Provide necessary support to employees who are undergoing social or occupational difficulties.
- Manage the PPE store by determining what PPE is required, what stock levels should be maintained and to provide the necessary equipment when and as required by employees.
- Provide the necessary training on H&S, correct use of PPE and HR practices when and as required.
- May be assigned different duties in accordance with business exigencies.
