We are on the lookout for an Electrical & HVAC Technician in order to maintain the good condition and functionality of our premises, by being able to monitor and inspect the condition of HVAC’s, fire systems and electrical power system (including UPSes and DC Backup power system), assisted by fellow technicians. The Licensed Technician will be supervising contractors during scheduled maintenance, projects and conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property.

  • The selected candidate must have a valid electrical certification in electrical wirings and fittings (Wireman license A).
  • The candidate shall also be required to be willing to complete the Wireman License B;
  • Excellent Team Player and eager to keep on learning throughout his/her career;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Must be able to work on your own initiative, with minimal supervision;
  • Candidate must possess a valid driving licence;

Here’s how you can hit a few plus points for this position:

  • MCAST or technical institute MQF level 4 qualification (Diploma) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent will be considered as an asset
  • Wireman License B
  • Demonstrated experience on Air-conditioning and electrical systems
  • Basic understanding of access control, security and fire systems;
  • Fluency in Maltese & English.

If this describes you, here’s a glimpse of what you will be doing in this position:

  • Assisting colleague technicians on the daily operational and ad-hoc duties/installations as per the section’s team calendar;
  • Supervising and ensuring contractors are working consistently with health and safety standards and internal policies and procedures;
  • Bringing to the superior's attention the requests for ordering of materials required for the completion of assigned work. Furthermore, the technician is also required to fill in and update any work-related records, such as the daily reports'
  • Preparing adequate material and tools, while asking for any assistance to perform the work satisfactorily, effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintaining the highest level of safety, housekeeping, quality, and accurate documentation at all times. Also expected to always take good care and make good use of any tools or power equipment under their responsibility;
  • Performing initial fault analysis for the plant electrical and mechanical systems;
  • Performing manual repairs and installations as necessary.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues, as well as installing electrical systems.
  • Surveying buildings as well as electrical, mechanical and ELV systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations and flag any shortcomings;
  • Required to work on an on-call roster.
  • Handling any ad-hoc assignments as may be requested from time-to-time;
