This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring strong financial control, and contributing to the monitoring and accuracy of the Group’s balance sheet across multiple entities, including GO plc and its subsidiaries.

You will play a central part in the preparation of financial statements, while also having the opportunity to work closely with teams across the Group and directly support the Head of Finance & Sustainability and the Chief Financial Officer. If you're ready to bring your expertise into a collaborative and fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you.

Does this sound like you? Here’s what you need to have to match our requirements:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent).
  • A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial control processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to new financial systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint with the ability to prepare and present clear, insightful financial presentations.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods, such as audit season and board reporting cycles.

This is how you can hit a few more plus points for this position:

  • Experience working within a Group environment.
  • Experience with consolidation of financial statements.

If this describes you, here’s a glimpse of what you will be doing in this position:

  • Taking a lead with the preparation and finalisation of financial statements for various entities within the Group, including presentations to senior management.
  • Supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring strong internal financial controls.
  • Monitoring balance sheet movements and preparing reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborating with teams across the Group to gather financial data and insights.
  • Assisting with audit preparations and other key reporting requirements.

What’s in it for you?

Joining our team comes with a lot of benefits! Here’s a glimpse of what we’ll offer you for being brilliant:

  • Benefit from working within a hybrid organisation, enjoying a balance between working from the office or any other location of your preference
