We’re looking for a gadget geek to join our Commercial Team as a Device Technical Officer. 

Would you like to test the latest smartphones and devices prior to market launch and act as the point of contact for our frontline teams when they need technical device support? If you answered yes, join us.

Here’s how you can hit a few plus points for this position: 

  • Technical qualifications such as an ICT Diploma or similar; 
  • Prior experience working in a technical team or in the Telco industry;  
  • English proficiency (spoken and written) and knowledge of Maltese;. 
  • Knowledge of device brands and/or operating systems (e.g. iOS, Android); 
  • Good level of computer literacy in the use of standard office automation tools; 
  • Good use of data transfer software like Smart Switch for Android and iCloud Transfer for iOS. 

If this describes you, then this is a glimpse of what you will be doing: 

  • Carry out testing and undertake familiarisation with new devices and services that are introduced; 
  • Liaise and coordinate communication with equipment manufacturers, during launch testing and the device lifetime; 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments to resolve complex technical issues; 
  • Communicate with suppliers about system requirements and relay information reliably and effectively both internally and externally; 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems with various devices, including smartphones, modems, STBs, and other peripherals; 
  • Provide technical support to internal and external users via phone, virtual, or in-person interaction; 
  • Install, configure, and maintain software components; 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and testing on devices to identify and address potential issues; 
  • Manage the aftersales process for customer devices, including timely reporting; 
  • Research and stay up to date on the latest technological advancements and device functionalities; 
  • Be an effective team player; 
  • Creating new ideas with the aim of improving the device management operation for both consumer & business customers; 
  • Ensuring that all the relevant processes and procedures are always adhered to; 
  • Provide user training on new devices and software applications.
